Oman’s Hotel Occupancy Goes Up – Better Days Ahead for Tourism

The National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) announced that the number of arrivals to Oman from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) nationals have gone up by 11187.9% by the first half of the year. The number of European tourists has also increased by 703.2% compared to a year ago. This is great news for the tourism industry in Oman, as the hotel occupancy and industry revenue will go up towards the end of the year. Several hotels in Muscat including famous ones such as Avani Muscat Hotel have experienced a great surge in demand.

The Salalah Airport has become congested with passengers at some points due to the excessive number of arrivals, however, the airport as well as resorts, hotels, and residences are making a great effort to accommodate every guest.
