Melbourne Cup Carnival – Iconic Australian Horse Racing Event Off and Running

One of the most popular horse racing events in Australia that has also garnered much international attention, the Melbourne Cup Carnival commenced this month. This horse racing carnival will play host to six different race days, each offering plenty of exciting on the field action, lively entertainment and of course high fashion which has become synonymous with the event. The races which commenced on 12th September will go on till 7th November, 2015 at the Flemington racetrack. Amongst the highlights that fans can look forward to are Turnbull Stakes Day on 4th October which is the spring season’s first 2,000 metre race, the AAMI Victoria Derby on 31st October with its premier Group 1 level race and the Emirates Melbourne Cup on 3rd November, the main draw of the Melbourne Cup Carnival, attracting more than 100,000 spectators.
