Melbourne International Jazz Festival – Jazzing up Victoria’s Capital

The sultry sounds of jazz will descend on the capital of Victoria this June as the Melbourne International Jazz Festival is set to envelope the city in a jazz induced frenzy. The festival is scheduled to open on the 3rd of June and run up to 12th June, with a wide range of city venues playing host to jazz performances and master classes from artistes from around the world. The Monash University Music Auditorium, Federation Square, Queen Victoria Market and the Melbourne Recital Centre are amongst the venues where one can catch performances. Jazz fans looking for a centrally located Melbourne serviced apartment that is within easy reach of some of these venues can consider options such as Citadines on Bourke Melbourne. An annual festival that first began in 1998, this year’s Melbourne International Jazz Festival will feature such highlights as the Gary Bartz Quartet, Emily’s D+Evolution (Esperanza Spalding), Hiromi: The Trio Project, Robert Glasper Trio, Tomasz Stańko Band and Snarky Puppy.
