Minister Sandiaga Uno Promotes Indonesian Tourism to the Middle East, Central Europe, and Central America

In a strategic move to boost Indonesia’s tourism industry, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno has targeted residents from the Middle East, Central Europe, and Central America as potential visitors. During the Familiarization Trip Program on Friday, Uno met with travel agents, journalists, content creators, and tourism observers from Saudi Arabia, Bulgaria, and Panama to showcase Indonesia’s cultural and natural attractions.

Uno emphasized the significance of these regions, noting substantial increases in tourist arrivals from Bulgaria, Central America, and Saudi Arabia in 2023, with growth rates of 33%, 35%, and 30% respectively. He aims to capitalize on this momentum by attracting more culture-interested tourists who will spend more nights in Bandung Indonesia and hotels. The minister expressed hope that the Familiarization Trip Program participants would promote Indonesia’s tourism upon returning to their countries, resulting in continued growth in international tourist arrivals at hotels such as HARRIS Hotel & Conventions Festival Citylink. Accompanying Uno were Sukmo Harsono, Indonesian Ambassador to Panama, Honduras, Costa Rica, and Nicaragua, and Iwan Bogananta, Indonesian Ambassador to Bulgaria, Albania, and North Macedonia.
