Minor Forms JV with China’s Funyard Hotels & Resorts – New markets, new hopes

China is now seeing some new changes in the behaviour of its travellers, as they tend to spend more on travelling, adventures, and recreational activities. Taking this trend to its advantage, Chinas Funyard Hotels and Resorts has recently come into a Join Venture agreement with Minor Hotels. Minor Hotels which is a popular international hotel group that operates 540+ properties globally will now pass the responsibility of overseeing business development, hotel operations, and sales of 7 of its hotel brands in China to Funyard Hotels and Resorts.

According to the reports, NH Collection, Oaks, and Avani will be among the properties Minor Hotels plan to bring to China under this JV agreement. Although the MOU was signed in January 2021, it was only enacted recently due to the prevailing COVID 19 situation.
