More Americans Visiting Vietnam – Country Looks to Ease Visa Requirements Too

As reported on the Travel Off Path website in January this year, Vietnam has seen a rise in popularity amongst American tourists. In early 2022, Vietnam was one of the first nations in the region to ease entry restrictions and opened its borders to American travellers irrespective of their vaccination status. Since then, the country has seen more tourists from that part of the world; for example, in 2022, out of Vietnam’s 3.36 million arrivals, 388,873 were from the Americas, with those from the United States contributing the most to this number.

This year, the country is targeting eight million foreign arrivals and to meet this goal is planning on easing visa requirements too. As highlighted on the ASEAN Briefing website on 25th March 2023, Vietnam is mulling initiatives like increasing the number of countries eligible for visa exemption; it also plans to extend the stay duration of those receiving e-visas to 45 days. Such moves will help to draw more global travellers looking to experience the wonders of Vietnam in destinations like Mui Ne; resort options in this destination including the likes of Anantara Mui Ne Resort offer safe accommodation too and the chance to experience everything from coastal bliss to cultural adventures.
