More Tourist Sites Open in Penang – Move Follows a Prior Test Run at Four Attractions

In September this year, the Penang government proposed opening certain outdoor tourist attractions as part of a test run to fine-tune health procedures and protocols at such sites. Four attractions with plenty of space were selected namely the Tropical Fruit Farm, Tropical Spice Garden, The Habitat and Penang Bird Park which is within easy reach of properties like Sky Residence Prai. The sites were open three days a week with a maximum capacity of 30 people at a time and entry only to fully vaccinated travellers who pre-booked their tickets online.

Subsequently, more attractions were opened and this coincided with domestic tourist arrivals in Penang; serviced apartments in areas such as Bukit Mertajam offer an ideal base from which to visit such places of interest. According to the Malay Mail news website that was quoting Yeoh Soon Hin, Penang Tourism and Creative Economy Committee chairman, from 11th to 19th October 2021, 27,059 visitors were recorded in just 14 attractions.
