More Tourists Expected to Visit Thailand During the Festive Seasons – A Boon for Tourism

The number of tourists visiting Thailand is expected to increase during the festive seasons especially with the 2,000 Baht visa-on-arrival fee being waived off until 30th April for citizens of 20 regions and countries; these include India, China and Bulgaria. This decision by the Thai government was made to encourage visitors during two of the region’s most popular festivals namely the Chinese New Year (in February) and Songkran, the Thai New Year (in April).

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) heralded this move as one which would further promote tourism in the country during the peak season for travel. Thailand at present is very popular amongst tourists and offers a variety of destinations as well as accommodation options; these range from modern apartments in Bangkok to Phuket luxury villas including the likes of Anantara Mai Khao Phuket Villas. In order to further enhance tourist experiences, TAT will be organising various Songkran celebrations in April as well.
