As highlighted on The Namibian news website on 24th January 2023, Namibia saw an increase in hotel occupancy rates last year when compared with the previous year. By the end of 2022, hotels had recorded an average of at least 40% occupancy which was more than 23.6% in 2021. When it came to foreign tourists, European countries were the most important source markets and made up the majority of visitors. It was also revealed, however, that locals were exploring the country and staying at hotels which contributed to the rise in occupancy too.
With global travel gaining popularity again, tourism is expected to continue to get back on track this year which will help to boost the local economy as well. Travellers have much to enjoy here from wildlife adventures to safe accommodation at hotels in Windhoek, the nation’s capital. Such properties include the likes of Avani Windhoek Hotel & Casino catering to both business and leisure needs.
