The Return of Chinese Tourists Boost Thai Tourism – Pattaya Amongst Key Destinations

Following China’s easing of restrictions on international flights, Thailand has welcomed Chinese travellers once more providing an added boost to the nation’s tourism industry. The first visitors from China since the pandemic were welcomed last month and more are expected, looking to enjoy everything from cultural discoveries to coastal fun at beach resorts in Pattaya; this city continues to be a major draw for travellers which was put in the spotlight during the Chinese New Year in January which saw an influx of tourists from China.

Apart from experiencing the Pattaya Chinese New Year Festival (20th to 22nd January 2023) with diverse activities and events, they also enjoyed safe accommodation at properties like Avani Pattaya Resort. The good news is that more tourists are expected in the months to come; according to the website of the National News Bureau of Thailand, the country is expecting 300,000 visitors from China in the first quarter of 2023. Additionally, Thailand’s previous arrivals target for the year which was 20 million has since been increased to 25 million after China eased its COVID-19 travel restrictions.
