National Day Observed in Oman – Special 4-Day Weekend Part of the Celebration

Oman, a country in the Arabian Peninsula, marked its 53rd National Day on 18th November 2023, commemorating its independence from Portuguese control in 1650; during this time, it also celebrated the milestones achieved under His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik who leads the country. There were limited activities this year with the main event being a military parade at the Governorate of A’Dakhiliya’s, Adam Air Base.

As part of the National Day celebrations, the government also announced that 22nd and 23rd November would be official holidays for both the private and public sectors; since the nation observes a work week spanning from Sunday to Thursday, the added days off meant that locals were able to enjoy a 4-day long weekend in Oman. Luxury resorts in the country including the likes of Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar Resort continue to remain an ideal choice for those looking to enjoy such holidays with a scenic getaway amidst the enchanting Green Mountain.
