New Airlines Launch Flights to Colombo – A Positive Move for Tourism

At the end of last year, new airlines commenced direct flights to Colombo, Sri Lanka, providing a boost to tourism as the country eased restrictions for travellers and looked to get the industry back on track. In November 2021, Air France and the Russian airline, Aeroflot, began direct flights to the island; in December 2021, Air Astana of Kazakhstan, AZUR Airlines of Russia, LOT Polish Airlines and Neos Airlines of Italy also offered direct flights to Sri Lanka.

It will be hoped that such moves will pave the way for more tourists to visit the country which is offering quarantine-free entry for fully vaccinated travellers. They can look forward to enjoying the best the island has to offer once more including coastal getaways at destinations such as Pasikuda; hotels on this scenic stretch of shoreline including the “Safe & Secure” certified Amaya Beach provide the ideal holiday ensuring traveller safety as well.
