New Hiking Trail in the Highlands of Sri Lanka – Route Spans from Kandy to Nuwara Eliya  

A new hiking trail in Sri Lanka is giving intrepid travelers a chance to experience the spellbinding natural scenery of the island’s highlands set amidst verdant mountains and lush tea plantations; this was put in the spotlight on the Much Better Adventures website on 13th July 2023 which revealed that the Pekoe Trail offers a journey from Kandy to Nuwara Eliya. Designed by Miguel Cunat who serves as a trail advisor to the Tourism Resilience Project, the trail spans a total of 300 km and is broken into different stages around 10 to 18 km each; one can hike the sections separately or on an overnight adventure, though the full route is not accessible yet.

One of the key destinations along the Pekoe Trail is the Horton Plains National Park which is covered in stages 11 and 12.
