New Tourism Guidelines in Sri Lanka – International Airports Reopen

Sri Lanka has reopened its international borders and as of 21st January 2021, both its international airports as well. Along with this, the country has also put new tourism guidelines into place. At present, those arriving must produce a negative result of a coronavirus test taken within 96 hours of departure to Sri Lanka and fill out a health declaration form online.

Once in the country, tourists will have to undergo coronavirus tests at their own expense on the fifth and seventh days; those staying for longer will have an additional test the week after. Travellers will have to stay at government-approved hotels initially and can go sightseeing to selected key attractions such as the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic within easy reach of Hotel Topaz.
