Nyepi (Icaka New Year) Festival – an unusual kind of celebration

A new year with a difference. The Nyepi Festival in Bali falls on the 21st March 2015. The festival has a quite unusual and unique feature to it where on the day of the New Year everyone remains silent. The visitors to the country are also advised to follow the customs of the Balinese culture. Even though the New Year day is spent in silence the day preceding & following the event is full of fun and excitement. Travellers visiting the area seeking for accommodation have a range of Bali spa resorts to choose from such as COMO Shambhala Estate Bali, a renowned property in the region. The Nyepi Day consists of many Balinese rituals such as The Bhuta Yajna Ritual and The Melasti Ritual which is performed 3 days before the festival.
