Oman issues travel alert – Quarantine and lockdown measures come into play

Oman has decided to take the maximum precautions until the vaccine has been passed on to most of the population. The travellers visiting Oman will have to undergo a 7-day quarantine which is mandatory especially for non-Omani arrivals. The CCA mentioned that without a 7-day quarantine, foreigners will not be able to board the flight. This will come into effect from the 11th of May from 6 pm.

However, Omani citizens are exempt from quarantine but will have to self-quarantine for 7 days at home. Airline crew, healthcare workers and diplomats are a few of those who are exempt from the mandatory quarantine. Although this is so, they are expected to follow self-quarantine procedures. Oman is on lockdown until the 15th of May. The best hotels in Oman the likes of Al Falaj Hotel will be open for stays after this period.
