Taking to the skies and offering a unique perspective of Sri Lanka, paramotoring has become the country’s latest adventure sport activity and offers thrill seekers unforgettable aerial views. First launched in Koggala, paramotoring is carried out in South Coast destinations such as Bentota and those in search of contemporary hotels in the region from which to head to the sites used can consider staying at the Bentota property of AVANI Hotels & Resorts.
Introduced to Sri Lanka by Sky Club, paramotoring or powered paragliding reaches heights of up to18,000 feet with speeds ranging from 15 to 45 mph. The pilot is strapped to a relatively lightweight motor and harnessed to a type of parachute. Apart from single flights, those not experienced in this activity can also engage in a tandem paraglide, where a trained instructor will fly you over the idyllic coastline, with flight times varying from 15 to 30 minutes.
