Honouring the past, embracing the future—Thailand’s tourism strides forward with vision and collaboration
The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA), together with its Thailand Chapter and Centara Grand at CentralWorld, recently hosted a special celebration recognising two key figures in Thailand’s tourism sector. The event honoured Chiruit Isarangkun Na Ayuthaya, outgoing President of the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB), while welcoming Siripakorn Cheawsamoot as the new Director General of the Designated Areas for Sustainable Tourism Administration (DASTA).
Industry leaders gathered against the stunning backdrop of Bangkok’s skyline to reflect on Chiruit’s contributions to establishing Thailand as a global hub for MICE tourism, and to celebrate Siripakorn’s appointment—signalling a stronger focus on sustainable tourism. PATA Chair Peter Semone and other key voices emphasised the importance of collaboration across sectors to ensure growth and resilience.
As Thailand looks ahead to a sustainable future in tourism, visitors to Bangkok can experience this spirit of progress firsthand. A stay at Chatrium Sathon Bangkok, a leading and preferred Bangkok apartment hotel, offers the perfect blend of comfort and convenience, reflecting the city’s role as a hub for business, leisure, and innovation.
