Penang and Langkawi to Draw More Tourists

Both Destinations to Join Forces

The Langkawi Development Authority and the Penang state government are to work together to not only attract more travellers but boost tourism in Malaysia as well. This was brought into the spotlight on The Star Online news website on 29th June 2022 which added that a Letter of Intent had been signed by these two destinations as well.

Langkawi and Penang have additionally agreed in principle to form a joint working committee for cross-promotions with a special focus on the Langkawi UNESCO Global Geopark and Penang Hill which is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve; the latter is a key site of interest in the region which can be reached on excursions from properties like PARKROYAL Penang Resort. Those based at such Penang beach hotels can also easily enjoy the other popular attractions here including the idyllic coastline and historical George Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
