Penang International Airport Leads With Surge in International Arrivals for March 2024 – Fly Dubai and New Routes Boost Penang’s Appeal

Penang International Airport (PEN) has shown remarkable growth in international arrivals, recording a 5% increase in March 2024 compared to the previous month. This surge can be attributed to the addition of Fly Dubai, which now operates daily flights directly from Dubai International Airport (DXB) to PEN. With 19 international airlines serving 16 global destinations through 514 weekly flights, PEN continues to expand its connectivity and attract new carriers. April anticipates further growth with the introduction of Thai Lion Air’s new route between PEN and Don Mueng (DMK).

Beyond the airport, Penang’s allure as a travel destination is complemented by its rich cultural heritage and diverse offerings. Visitors can explore historical sites, and vibrant street art, and indulge in local cuisine while enjoying hospitality at a heritage hotel in Penang the likes of The George Penang by The Crest Collection. This combination of modern air travel convenience and cultural richness positions Penang as a top choice for travellers seeking both exploration and relaxation in Southeast Asia.
