Penang to See More Direct Flights – A Significant Boost to Tourism Expected

The tourism industry in Penang has received a boost with the announcement that more direct flights will be connecting this Malaysian state with key international cities. This was brought to light on The Malaysian Reserve news website on 10th August 2023, which was quoting Yeoh Soon Hin, the outgoing Penang Executive Councillor for Tourism and Creative Economy. He further revealed that the state government is working on establishing direct flights to Shenzhen, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Istanbul, Sydney, Seoul, Tokyo, Beijing, Chennai, and Doha by the end of the year.

One of the direct flights that has already resumed services here is the Hong Kong to Penang connection from AirAsia which offers flights thrice a week. As more flights to Penang get launched, travellers around the world will have easier access to this state which offers much to experience at its capital on a stay at a hotel in Georgetown Penang; this includes centrally located properties like Travelodge Georgetown Penang close to key attractions of this historical city which is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
