Phuket King’s Cup Regatta – Asia’s Biggest Sailing Race

Since its establishment in 1987, The King’s Cup Regatta has attracted some of the world’s best yachtsmen and is now Asia’s premier yacht racing event. It was held from the 2nd to the 9th of December marking its 31st year on the Asian yacht racing calendar in the azure waters of the Andaman Ocean.

Adding further glory, this sporting event was named as the ‘Yachting Event of the Year’ at the Christofle Asia Boating Awards 2006. Media attention has grown on the international yachting scene over the years both in size and reputation and sailors and locals have been vying for the trophy. Those who were holidaying in the vicinity in places such as Kata Rocks and many other Phuket luxury villas in Thailand witnessed this spectacular event.
