Phuket King’s Cup Regatta Boosts Visitors

The annual world famous international sporting event Phuket King’s Cup Regatta held under the patronage of The Royal Family of Thailand is ready to kick off this year again in December. This year, the event will commence from December 5 to 12 at Kata Bay, Phuket with a larger number of racing classes than ever before bringing in over 150 boats and more than 1500 sailors from all over the world competing for one of the most prestigious sailing trophies. This event is sure to increase the number of visitors to Phuket that will definitely enhance the Thai tourism performance. Some of the finest Phuket luxury hotels such as the Anantara Mai Khao Phuket Villas are sure to benefit from the influx of tourists to watch the event in the grand city come December.

The Phuket King’s Cup Regatta that was inaugurated in 1987 to celebrate the 60th birthday of His Majesty the King of Thailand and held every year ever since is organised by the Royal Varuna Yacht Club in collaboration with the Yacht Racing Association of Thailand, the Royal Navy and the Province of Phuket.
