The azure waters of Phuket were once again rolling with excitement as Asia’s biggest and most popular regatta, the Phuket King’s Cup Regatta, kicked off from November 29th to 6th December. The annual event is a must attend if you are staying at a Phuket luxury resort like the Point Yamu by COMO Phuket . It was a week filled with the best of sailing and partying. The event was inaugurated in 1987 to celebrate the birthday of his Majesty King Bhumibol and this year marks its 20th year of prominence on the Asian yacht racing calendar. The Phuket King’s Cup Regatta attracts some of the world’s best yachtsmen and yachtswomen from around 18 countries to its venue Kata beach, creating a spectacular array of sailing and enjoyment.
