The Andaman Pearl shines brightest in Thailand’s tourism crown
Phuket has reaffirmed its status as Southern Thailand’s tourism powerhouse, generating an impressive 188.99 billion baht in revenue during the first four months of 2025, according to the Public Relations Office Region 6. The island, often called the “Andaman Pearl,” continues to attract visitors with its pristine beaches, luxury hotels, diverse water activities, and vibrant lifestyle offerings.
Surat Thani followed in second place with 49.16 billion baht, driven by destinations like Koh Samui and Koh Phangan, while Krabi secured third with 36.41 billion baht, thanks to iconic spots such as Railay Bay and the Phi Phi Islands. Other provinces, including Phang Nga and Songkhla, also demonstrated steady growth, highlighting the South’s broad appeal.
Phuket’s reputation extends beyond leisure, with growing interest in wellness retreats in Phuket. Properties such as Layan Life by Anantara highlight this trend, offering premium wellness-focused experiences. With sustainable tourism initiatives, improved infrastructure, and strong short-haul markets, Southern Thailand remains on track for continued tourism success in 2025.
