Plant-Based Dining at Maldives Resorts in the Spotlight – More Than a Passing Trend

There has been a significant addition to resort restaurants in Maldives with the inclusion of dining options that cater to vegans and vegetarians; this was highlighted in the article, “11 Maldives hotels embracing plant-based dining”, published on the Condé Nast Traveller India website on 11th September 2022. It put the spotlight on how in the Maldives, 5-star resorts are catering to travellers who are looking to enjoy plant-based dishes; also of note is that vegetarian fine-dining courtesy of renowned international chefs has grown in popularity too.

Indian vegetarian cooking is in demand as well and one of the examples cited was Tradition Saffron, an Indian speciality restaurant at OZEN RESERVE BOLIFUSHI, an all-inclusive private island resort in the

South Male Atoll; patrons can look forward to savouring an all-vegetarian thali as well as traditional Indian heritage dishes that have been inspired by saffron, a spice widely used in cooking in South Asia.
