Pomelo Festival in Thailand – Cultural Celebration of Gratitude

The Pomelo Festival, an annual celebration of nature’s bounty and cultural richness, is a cherished event that brings communities together. The goal of this cultural event is to promote the khao taengkwa pomelo and provide a tourism boost via a range of activities, from pomelo tasting to cultural performances, to encapsulate the essence of tradition and unity.

The unique fertility of Chai Nat’s soil makes it ideal for the growth of pomelo, and the orchids grown in the healthy land have become quite an attraction for the town’s agro-tourism efforts, and study trips have become quite a regular occurrence. The fair itself is quite an attraction, with pomelo parades and various crafting demonstrations catching the eye of visitors. Visitors flying down for the festival enjoyed accommodation at a Lanna resort, with properties such as Anantara Golden Triangle Elephant Camp & Resort being among the most popular.
