Popularly known as the ‘Hungry Ghost’ festival, the annual Por Tor festival took place from the 8th to 24st of August 2014. Noted as a significant event for the ethnic Chinese, it features flowers, candles and of course traditional food that are offered on altars for deceased ancestors. It is a truly distinctive event worth witnessing and is celebrated at most of the Chinese shrines across Phuket and beyond.
