Portugal and US Strengthen its Tourism Relationship – A Great Initiative to Share Cultures!

Portugal has developed its tourism industry and strengthened its relationship with the US, resulting in more US visitors to Portugal, a 27% increase in 2022. For the first two months in 2023 alone, Portugal experienced a 26% increase in US visitors compared to the numbers in 2019 during the pandemic. Portugal’s Secretary of State for Tourism, Nuno Fazenda mentioned that the US is Portugal’s fastest-growing tourism market. There has been an increase in air travel connections, contributing more to the growing relationship.

As Portugal experiences more tourists from the US, popular tourist destinations in the US such as Chicago, New York, San Francisco, and Seattle are also being considered for travel by the Portuguese.
