Koh Samui tourism business operators are urging the Thai government to continue plans to market this popular island as a wellness destination as was highlighted on the Bangkok Post website on 15th August 2022; it also mentioned that Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, the Tourism and Sports Minister, as well as other organisations, had visited Koh Samui in August this year to discuss the tourism status here.
Quoted by the Bangkok Post, the president of the Samui Spa Association, Wanwalee Tantikarn, supported the plan to focus on the island’s potential for being a wellness destination; she went on to add that while tourists are currently paying more attention to aspects such as their health if the Thai island became a premier place for wellness, more travellers could be expected. It’s important to note that there are already options for those interested in focusing on their wellbeing while staying at a luxury hotel Koh Samui has to offer beside its pristine shores. Such properties include Santiburi Koh Samui which has a holistic onsite spa that features traditional Thai and contemporary western treatments.
