After the football world cup that wrapped up in December last year, Qatar has seen a bit of a slowdown in tourist arrivals to the country. Nonetheless, the Head of Qatar Tourism and Qatar Airways mentioned that hotels in Qatar like Souq Waqif Boutique Hotels even after the world cup are at least 65% to 70% full. At a press conference, Baker also told the media that there have been about 1.16 million tourist arrivals in just the first quarter of the year and it is safe to look forward to about 5 million arrivals by the end of the year.
Qatar aims to not rely completely on income gained through its natural resources and therefore has spent billions of dollars on making the country a tourist-friendly place. Visit the hotel websites and you will also find some of the best hotel deals in Doha further encouraging tourists to come to the country.
