Qatar has successfully hosted The European Drive-In Film Festival which was held at the Doha Festival City from the 26th to the 28th of November 2020. The festival was free to enter and held at the Festival City parking lot where nine films from nine countries were showcased. Subtitled in English, these films were from Belgium, Austria, Czechia, Italy, Germany, The Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland and Portugal.
Residents in Qatar, as well as those staying in many a hotel in Doha, were welcome as spots were handed out on a first-come, first-serve basis. Starting with a Swedish film, the festival got on very well and was safe thanks to all precautions taken by the organizing committee. Participants came from all over Doha including hotels the likes of Banana Island Resort Doha by Anantara. It was an overall safe cinema experience.
