Qatar Museums Announces Upcoming Cultural Initiatives – Many Events & Exhibitions Planned

In June this year, Qatar Museums announced a wide range of cultural initiatives it was planning for fall 2022 with programmes beginning this month including exhibitions that will run till 2023. Qatar Creates which used to focus on events for a limited period has been transformed and will now offer year-round activities. Amongst the 2022 highlights will be October’s reopening of the Museum of Islamic Art in Doha close to some of the best hotels in Qatar; designed by I M Pei, a Pritzker prize-winning architect, this stunning structure that’s within easy reach of Souq Al Wakra Hotel Qatar by Tivoli, will feature newly reinstalled and reimagined spaces and include a family trail as well.

With the FIFA World Cup 2022 set to launch on 21st November this year, Qatar Museums also has plans to transform the country into an outdoor art museum with numerous installations; by fall 2022, visitors can expect to see some of the over 40 commissioned artworks in Doha and other destinations at public places like shopping hubs, parks, educational facilities, Q-Rail stations, and the Hamad International Airport
