Qatar’s tourism sector is steadily growing and is expected to reach up to 4.9 million in visitor numbers by 2025. This positive trend falls in line with the country’s economic objectives and is also set to affect both local and global airline industries.
There are several ways in which Qatar’s tourism can impact the airline industry. First, the expected increase in tourist numbers will also increase demand for air travel which will require more flights and new routes. Secondly, such a demand will necessitate better airline services that cater to a larger and more diverse passenger base. Thirdly, the strong bilateral deals between Qatar and countries such as India and Taiwan are set to contribute towards economic stability which will then foster travel and tourism.
These predictions were identified amidst Qatar’s ambitious plans for its tourism sector. By leveraging its reputation as a sought-after destination with local attractions and various Doha resorts such as the Banana Island Resort in Doha, the country aims to attract 6 million tourists every year by 2030.
