Quarantine Period for Travellers to Hong Kong Reduced – Stringent Health Measures in Place

Assessing the local and global pandemic situation, Hong Kong reduced the required quarantine period for international travellers. The move which came into effect from 5th February 2022 saw the mandatory quarantine period of three weeks being reduced to two. As part of the new guidelines, after quarantine, visitors are expected to self-monitor for seven days; while they can go outside, they do have to submit to compulsory testing on two days.

With such strict protocols in place, Hong Kong is looking to contain the pandemic and offer enhanced safety for residents as well as travellers be they staying at a hotel or dining at a restaurant in Wan Chai. Certain accommodation providers such as Cosmo Hotel Hong Kong have also been certified under the “Anti-Epidemic Hygiene Measures Certification Scheme” by the Hong Kong Quality Assurance Agency ensuring guests can rest easy. Since entry requirements are subject to change, visitors are encouraged to check the latest updates before they travel on official websites (https://www.coronavirus.gov.hk/eng/inbound-travel.html).
