Quarantine Procedure Changed for Resort Staff – A Safe Stay in the Maldives

As per a circular published on 19th January 2021 by the Ministry of Tourism in the Maldives, the quarantine procedure has been changed pertaining to island resort employees. Initially, staff were able to freely travel between properties that were under the same management; with this new regulation, however, such employees must now undergo a 10-day quarantine and will be cleared to work only after getting a negative PCR test result.

This is amongst the latest stringent measures of the Health Protection Agency in the Maldives. Family resorts in the country the likes of Anantara Dhigu Maldives Resort are following such guidelines along with comprehensive health and sanitisation protocols to ensure the safety of guests and staff alike. The country which was amongst the first nations to restart tourism last year has seen a growing number of arrivals while it has adopted strict COVID-19 preventive measures too.
