The tourism industry in Queensland, Australia is expecting a boost in the upcoming Easter and school holidays in April with special mention being made of those visiting from Sydney. This was highlighted in an online article published on 1st February 2021 by Australasian Leisure Management which quoted Annastacia Palaszczuk, the Queensland Premier; she stated that the opening of the border with Greater Sydney (on 1st February 2021) could result in an upsurge in tourism earnings as it did during Easter in Queensland in 2019.
It will be hoped that New South Wales and its capital Sydney will hopefully likewise see a boost in tourism during this period. The state is open for interstate travellers barring those from any recently detected COVID-19 hotpots and offers plenty of fun adventures. Additionally, visitors can stay at hotels in Sydney that have been registered as a “COVID safe business” by the NSW government including properties like PARKROYAL Darling Harbour, Sydney which follow stringent health and hygiene protocols.
