Queensland Offers Incentives for Tourism Jobs – Work in Paradise Campaign Launched

On 1st July 2021, the Queensland government in Australia launched a special programme to attract workers from across Australia to take up tourism jobs in the regional parts of the state. The package, which is worth $7.5 million, provides prospective employees with an incentive of $1,500 to relocate as well as travel vouchers worth $250. The campaign, titled “Work in Paradise”, hopes to draw job seekers to regional Queensland and thereby meet the need for labour in the tourism industry which is steadily recovering.

Thanks to domestic tourism, there has been a demand for holidays to Queensland as well as for suitable accommodation be it at hotels or serviced apartments; Toowoomba is amongst the regional destinations that have been a popular choice amongst Australians. Properties such as Oaks Toowoomba Hotel offer an ideal base from which to explore this area, while the city is amongst the attractive destinations for those looking to take advantage of the incentive package.
