Removal of On Arrival PCR Testing That Made Travelling to Abu Dhabi Convenient

On the 7th of March 2022, The National announced agreeable news for travellers awaiting their turn to explore the excitement-filled city of Abu Dhabi. Visitors of the city no longer were required to halt their reservations at Abu Dhabi resorts as the mandatory PCR requirement for passengers on arrival was removed. This came as a result of the latest government directives on COVID-19 and PCR testing, spiking up tourism once again as lodgings like Desert Islands Resort & Spa by Anantara filled up in numbers.

However, guests who preferred to be extra cautious and ensure that they carried no traces of COVID-19 in their bodies were allowed to take voluntary PCR tests at their expense through the testing facility available at the Abu Dhabi International Airport. The UAE was determined to build a safe environment for its tourists while ensuring that the travelling experience could be of convenience to them, resulting in the relaxed COVID-19 restrictions and the elimination of the mandatory on arrival PCR test.
