Renewed thinking and focus to revive SL tourism – New efforts, new hopes

Following the COVID-19 global pandemic, Sri Lanka is now ready to say ‘Ayubowan’ to tourists. However, officials say that although they promote Sri Lanka as a possible travel destination in other countries, they do not expect very big numbers of tourist arrivals in the first few months as most of the main markets (China) has been severely affected by the pandemic.

Officials also expect a slight difference in the way that the tourists will behave when they are travelling in Sri Lanka in the future. They predict that tourists, instead of visiting the most popular areas and attractions, will visit the less known and less crowded ones instead. Hence it is likely that they will probably book a Dickwella resort the likes of Dickwella Resort & Spa when they decide to visit down-south and refrain from dealing much with the crowds and the rushes.
