Highlighting evaluative mediation, the importance of meditation in the construction industry and the benefits of mediation, the RICS Evaluative Mediation Training 2017 Seminar was held on the 31st of August 2017. Celebrating its inaugural training, this event was organized by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) at Hopewell Centre in Wan Chai, Hong Kong. Those who were keen on attending the event had the option of being based at a nearby budget hotel in Hong Kong including properties such as Dorsett Mongkok Hong Kong and were able to acquire invaluable knowledge on the subject.
The participants were trained as Evaluative Mediators acquiring knowledge on how to manage challenges with regard to the evaluative mediation process. Featuring the popular mediation practitioner, trainer and coach Mr. Winston Siu, the event was conducted free of charge for a maximum capacity of 80 individuals. A process created by judges on settlement conferences, Evaluative Mediation assists the parties to reach a resolution by highlighting the flaws of their cases and predicting what a jury or judge would possibly do.
