The resilient tourism industry of Sri Lanka is steadily getting back on track following the pandemic and the easing of global travel restrictions. A popular destination for holidaymakers around the world, the island has seen a growth in last-minute bookings by tourists and a rise in advance bookings too; this was brought to light on the EconomyNext news website on 24th March 2023. These last-minute booking packages are on offer at various accommodation providers including the likes of Anantara Peace Haven Tangalle Resort; those planning to stay at such beachside hotels in Tangalle can also choose from many other packages focusing on Ayurvedic journeys, romantic retreats, surf adventures and more.

The country is already seeing a significant boost in tourists with more expected to arrive in the coming months; according to statistics from the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority, in the first three weeks of March this year, the island had welcomed 84,585 foreign travellers and was on track to achieve its 105,000 arrivals target for the month. Following such encouraging numbers in January and February as well, Sri Lanka is on course to meet its year-end target of registering 1.55 million visitors.
