Rowing: Head of the River Race- the longest sporting event in London

The longest sporting traditions in London, The Head of the River Race is a must see event when in the city. The race started in 1926 and is held annually on the River Thames in England. Around 400 crews from around the world compete in the boating event. The 2015 race is scheduled to be held on the 29th March. The championship course is 4.25 miles long from Mortlake to Putney. Some of the countries that take part in the boating championship include Germany, Australia, Russia, Switzerland and USA.
