Royal Ploughing Ceremony in Thailand

The annual royal ploughing ceremony will be held on the 13th of May 2015. This ancient ritual is celebrated in many Asian countries including Thailand. Tourists visiting the region during this time of the year could witness the royal ploughing ceremony and when searching for an apartment hotel in Bangkok one can choose from a range of renowned hotels including Citadines Sukhumvit 11 Bangkok.

During the ceremony two sacred oxen hitched to a wooden plough, keep pulling it on the ceremonial ground while the court Brahmins sow rice seeds. The oxen are then offered food which includes corn, green beans, freshly cut grass, rice and water.
