Russia is the Maldives’ Top Source Market Again – Tourist Arrivals Continue to Rise

After having conceded first place to India as the top source market for tourism in the Maldives, Russia emerged at the top once more this July. As of 19th July 2023, as per the statistics put out by the country’s Ministry of Tourism, a total of 119,405 tourists had arrived from Russia followed by 118,638 tourists from India. The remaining countries that made up the top five source markets were the United Kingdom, China, and Germany respectively.

At the time, the total arrivals stood at 1,016,719 which was a 13.4% increase when compared with the same period last year; this bodes well as the country remains on track to reach its year-end goal of welcoming 1.8 million travellers. Tourists are once more enjoying holidays in this tropical paradise with stays at some of the best resorts in Maldives at idyllic locations like the North Male Atoll; this includes private island properties such as Grand Park Kodhipparu Maldives which offers both romantic escapes and fun family getaways.
