Since direct flights to Thailand from Russia commenced at the end of October last year, Russians have been flocking to this popular Asian holiday destination. According to an article published on the Skift website on 9th January 2023, arrivals from Russia in November 2022 were recorded at 109,000, a sevenfold increase when compared to September. The prospects for this year are encouraging too with one million tourists from Russia expected in 2023.
One of the most popular destinations for Russians is Phuket and between 1st November 2022 and 2nd January 2023, Russians accounted for 167,698 arrivals and made up the largest source market for this Thai island.
