Dubai Sets to Host the Annual Dubai Tourism Summit, a First of its kind Summit to Boost the Country’s Tourism Industry

Dubai Economy and Tourism Department (DET) recently declared the setting up of the annual Dubai tourism summit at the Skift Global Forum East. The annual Dubai tourism summit is expected to be one of the first events to establish an indigenous leadership program to empower the country’s emerging tourism industry. The tourism summit will provide an ideal opportunity for stakeholders to engage in lively discussion not to mention exchange ideas, visions, and best practices on giving life to a sound global tourism industry.

Statistics report that Dubai welcomed at least 11.4 million international tourists between January and October 2022, an overwhelming increase from the previous year. Dubai is on track to achieve its tourism goals and is positioned to end the year with a strong performance. The hospitality sector has also seen significant growth, with an increase in the number of online searches and bookings in hotels and luxury villas in Dubai surpassing pre-pandemic levels. The hotel occupancy rate in Dubai between January and October 2022 was 71%, one of the highest hotel occupancies in the world, and the hotel sector which consists of industry giants like Anantara World Islands Dubai Resort outperformed pre-pandemic levels across all key measurements.
