The move from the old Salalah Airport to the New Muscat International Airport was completed with great success. Sheik Aiman al Hosni, the CEO of Oman Airports stated that the experience they gained in moving into a new terminal was invaluable and that the move was made within 2 hrs on March 20th, 2018.
The General Manager of Muscat International Airport, David Wilson stated that the shift was an immense logistical operation with many challenges which was dealt in record time with team spirit. Despite operations in the new airport having just begun a fortnight ago, the ”on-time performance” (OTP) percentage has been stabilised and at times even exceeded that of the former airport. With no negative effects on the influx of discerning travellers who find accommodation in Salalah hotels and resorts including the likes of Al Baleed Resort Salalah by Anantara.
