SAS International Eco-Challenge 2016 – Taking on The Elements

A race that tested the endurance of participants amidst diverse terrains, the SAS International Eco-Challenge 2016 just concluded in Tioman. This adventure race featured a course that took runners through ravines and jungles and included rock climbing as well. Those planning on witnessing parts of this race next year and looking for a Tioman resort which to base yourself at can consider Berjaya Tioman Resort. Also referred to as the Sultan Ahmad Shah International Eco Challenge, this race was inaugurated in 2008. This year was the 9th edition of this competition with its signature challenges that took participants up against the elements. The 2016 race featured international and local categories for both men and women who took on the 30 km track with the winners taking away top prizes. There was an added category for veterans, both men and women 45 years and above who had a shorter 22 km track to run.
