Taking place off the beautiful coastline of Queensland is the 10th annual SeaLink Magnetic Island Race Week, which presents world class racing from 1st September to 6th September 2016. Magnetic Island, which is located within the boundaries of World Heritage Listed Great Barrier Reef Marine Park, is a prime attraction for racing, as it offers an unforgettable backdrop with its clear tropical waters and unspoiled landscape.
In addition, aside from attracting sailing enthusiasts from around the country, the sporting event is also touted as a great boost for Queensland tourism, as many hotels and Townsville holiday apartments, like the upscale Oaks Gateway on Palmer, are fully booked during the season. The SeaLink Magnetic Island Race Week will be held at Cleveland Bay and is the finale of the Queensland sailing season.
